Week 4
This blog marks then end of our forth week in TY. This week has been very nerve-racking and also very enjoyable.
The week started off normally, with normal classes and activities. On Wednesday it was different. We started work experience. I'm sure we were all pretty nervous, starting a new, unfamiliar place for the first time and it was always going to be different but Wednesday was the day we had to face the music and go in. I am working in Avoca's food hall for this 10 week placement (every Wednesday for 10 weeks). I got in early that morning, because it was the first morning and first impressions are important..... I got a lift with Eve, who is also doing her placement there - but upstairs in the cafe, not the food hall. When I arrived I was given a tour or the floor and kitchen area etc. and was introduced to a few different people. One of them was Margaret. She works on the cheese counter, so for the whole day I helped her. I don't like cheese that much but I have to say, I really enjoyed myself :). After a couple of hours on the cheese counter, I went over to the floor manager, a lady called Paula. She was really nice and gave me a quick briefing about what being floor manager involved. After I finished my job with Paula, I went back over to Margaret for the rest of the day. During the day I wasn't really that tired but when I got home I just collapsed into the sofa for the night. The rest of the week was pretty enjoyable. Everybody talked about their work experience on Thursday and it sounded like everybody enjoyed it - just like myself.
Anyway, that was this week. Another week over and done with. We are all excited for next week thought because the fun walk is on. Ill tell you about that next week :) Until then ...
BYE :)
